The Mercedes Benz Stadium, Atlanta
Opening for the 2017 season and inspired both by the Falcons’ angular logo and the oculus in the Roman Pantheon, this eight petal design, allows translucent light inside, as the petals slide past each other, opening like a camera aperture.
The Huangzhou Stadium, Huangzhou, China
Resembling a blooming flower, and consisting of 56 entwined, aluminum petals, designed to use 2/3 less steel than a typical arena,the stadium is set to open next year
The Qatar World Cup 2022 Stadiums
Set for the 2022 World Cup, this structures dark fabric roof is set to resemble a Bedouin tent, and a fluid, interwoven steel form recalling the hull of an Arabian dhow ship.
The AAMI Park, Melbourne
A “Bioframe” design sees a series of geodesic domes made up of rigid triangular components, which covers most of the seating area, for unobstructed views, free from pillars, walls or other supports. The design also required 50 percent less steel than a typical stadium roof.
